Husband-and-wife chefs Christophe and Michelle Poteaux have helped revolutionize Alexandria’s restaurant scene at Bastille, their charming upscale bistro. The acclaimed duo—who also teamed up at Jean Louis at the Watergate and Acquarelle in D.C.—will present their modern, intensely seasonal French cuisine at our annual Bastille Day celebration.

This homey budino from JBF Award winner Karen DeMasco will test your loyalty to Grandma's corn pudding. Corn kernels sweeten a custard base, which is topped with blueberry compote and accessorized with cornmeal shortbread cookies. It's a dessert to make for a dinner party with good friends.
