Now in its third week, James Beard Foundation’s Taste America® will be continuing its cross-country tour this Friday. Here's a preview of what’s on deck Philadelphia, one of our two upcoming stops.


On Friday, October 4, Taste America All-Star Carla Hall and some of the Philadelphia area's best chefs, including several James Beard Award winners, will prepare a private VIP multicourse dinner at Pêche. The venue will then open its doors to the public for a tasting reception featuring more City of Brotherly Love talent, including JBF Award winner Michael Solomonov, Mitch Prensky, Joe Cicala, and more. James Beard Foundation's Taste America® Miami


In addition to Chicago, the great city of Miami was also on the itinerary for the first weekend of James Beard Foundation's Taste America®. On Friday we headed to the historic Ancient Spanish Monastery, where we enjoyed a fabulous meal prepared by James Beard Award–winning and other top Florida-based chefs. Saturday consisted of cooking demonstrations and cookbook signings by Top Chef Just Desserts Yigit Pura and Taste America All-Star Ted Allen at Sur La Table.

It's time for a look at this weekend's other James Beard Foundation’s Taste America® city: Las Vegas!


On Saturday, September 28, Taste America All-Star Masaharu Morimoto will join a lineup of top Sin City chef talent, including a number of Beard Award winners, at the Mirage hotel's stunning main pool. The walk-around tasting will highlight the city's most tempting food and drink.


Earlier that same day, join us at Sur La Table at Fashion Show Mall for a day of free cooking demos, product tastings, and more. Legendary French pastry chef François Payard will lead off with a demonstration in Sur La Table’s demo kitchen, with chef Morimoto to follow. On last week’s episode of Taste Matters, host Mitchell Davis spoke with Jeffrey Zurofsky, partner at ‘wichcraft and co-founder of the Riverpark Farm at the Alexandria Center, one of the largest urban farms in the five boroughs.
