Taste America Local Dish Challenge: We Have a Winner!

Santa Barbara is the winner of the Taste America Local Dish Challenge!

 

The plates have been cleared, the entries have been tallied, and we've got a winning city for James Beard Foundation's Taste America® Local Dish Challenge!

 

After two months of folks dining and Instagramming across the nation, we're excited to reveal that Santa Barbara has taken the title! What's more, this SoCal city took the win through the efforts and patrons of just one restaurant: Julienne, a lovely farm-to-table spot located downtown. Congrats to owners and husband-and-wife team Emma and Justin West! Thanks to your impressive showing, $10,000 will be donated to the Food Bank of Santa Barbara County.

Taste America Local Dish Challenge: Final Standings Update!

The James Beard Foundation's Taste America® Local Dish Challenge

Here's a final update on the standings for James Beard Foundation's Taste America® Local Dish Challenge! Chicago still leads, but only by a slim margin. With two days left in the contest, any of the leading cities could still win this one.

 

If you're late to the game, here's your last refresher: order a "Taste America Local Dish" at one of the contest's participating restaurants, snap it on your phone and upload it to Instagram, tagging your image with #JBFTasteAmerica and the suggested hashtag for your city. After the promotion ends on October 31, the city with the most uploads will receive $10,000 or 10 percent of funds raised nationally, whichever amount is higher, in the form of a donation to a local food charity.
