Kitchen Here’s what happening at the Beard House next week: Tuesday, August 11, 7:00 P.M. Del Frisco’s Divine Wine Dinner Moving beyond the chophouse template, the chefs at the helm of the acclaimed Del Frisco’s steakhouses have designed an elegant, European-inspired menu. Accompanying them at the Beard House will be the restaurant group’s wine director, David O’Day, who has chosen a heavenly selection of wines to pair with the meal. Wednesday, August 12, 12:00 P.M. Beard on Books In The Sweeter Side of Amy's Bread: Cakes, Cookies, Bars, Pastries and More from New York City's Favorite Bakery Amy Scherber shares recipes for the sweet treats that make Amy’s Bread a perennial NYC favorite. The veteran pastry chef offers her expertise on techniques like proper measurements and butter handling, and lists ingredients in precise amounts to ensure perfect results time after time. While the recipes are certainly the stars of the show, the book also contains profiles of longtime customers, giving readers a window into the community that eats and lives for the wonders of Amy’s Bread. Wednesday, August 12, 7:00 P.M. Modern Israeli Cuisine After winning over Philly diners at Marigold Kitchen, chef Michael Solomonov has inspired near-messianic devotion at the recently opened Zahav. The Israeli-inspired eatery appeared on almost every best new restaurant list in the country—including those from Esquire, Travel + Leisure, and Philadelphia—and helped earn Solomonov a 2009 JBF Rising Star nomination. Thursday, August 13, 7:00 P.M. Five-Diamond Luxury On the grounds of the luxurious Nemacolin Woodlands Resort in Pennsylvania’s Laurel Highlands, Lautrec offers guests a French-inspired, forward-thinking fine dining experience. At the helm of the kitchen is youthful chef Dave Racicot, who earned the elegant restaurant AAA Five-Diamond status after less than a year in the top spot.
