On the Menu: June 18 through June 23
Check out what's happening at the Beard House next week!
Saturday, June 18, 7:00 P.M.
Franco-Vietnamese Cuisine
Last year downtown darling David Chang opened Má Pêche, bringing his popular brand of cuisine up to Midtown’s power lunch crowd. With chef/partner Tien Ho in charge of its bold France-meets-Vietnam menu, this restaurant is now a hot destination for the corporate set and in-the-know diners alike.
Monday, June 20, 7:00 P.M.
Sud de France Mediterranean Feast
Aided by the gentle Mediterranean climate, the millennia-old winemaking of the Languedoc-Roussillon region has recently matured, producing bold, elegant bottles that are attracting attention worldwide. To showcase these excellent wines, we’ve enlisted the talents of Languedoc-Roussillon natives Cedric Tovar and the Michelin-starred Charles Fontès.
Tuesday, June 21, 7:00 P.M.
Five-Diamond Luxury
The French-inspired Lautrec restaurant has always offered guests at the über-luxe Nemacolin Woodlands Resort a spectacular fine-dining experience. But since Kristin Butterworth took over the kitchen last year, the impressive, Italy-trained chef has received one accolade after another, including both the Forbes Five-Star and AAA Five-Diamond awards for 2011.
Wednesday, June 22, 7:00 P.M.
Shinin' Times at The Fort
In Shinin’ Times at The Fort, Holly Arnold Kinney chronicles the eclectic story of her parents’ landmark Colorado restaurant (highlights include an adobe castle and a pet black bear cub), which she continues to oversee. At this Beard House dinner, Kinney and chef Geoffrey Groditski will serve The Fort’s Western-inspired menu alongside fine wines from Silver Oak Cellars.
Thursday, June 23, 7:00 P.M.
Virginia Summer Bounty
The Restaurant at the Patowmack Farm has been a farm-to-table fine–dining pioneer since its opening in the late 1990s, but the delicate touch of El Bulli–trained executive chef Christopher Edwards takes the concept to the next level. Get a taste of his hyper-seasonal cooking when Edwards returns to the Beard House.
