On the Menu: March 6 through March 12
Here’s what’s happening at the Beard House next week:
Tuesday, March 8, 7:00 P.M.
Mardi Gras Seafood Celebration
Let the bons temps roll this Fat Tuesday when Tenney Flynn and the GW Fins team join us at the Beard House to celebrate Mardi Gras. The renowned restaurant has been serving its globally influenced seafood in the heart of New Orleans’s French Quarter for the past ten years.
Wednesday, March 9, 12:00 P.M.
Beard on Books: Grant Achatz's Life on the Line
Join us in the dining room of the landmark James Beard House for the next installment of Beard on Books, a literary series featuring readings and discussions with some of the food world’s most celebrated authors.
Wednesday, March 9, 7:00 P.M.
Chefs of Aloha
George Mavrothalassitis and Alan Wong, two pioneers of Hawaii’s regional food movement, will be collaborating on this phenomenal event brought to us by the Hawaii Restaurant Association and Visit Oahu. These two culinary superstars have designed an extraordinary menu that will highlight Hawaii’s culinary evolution over the past 20 years.
Thursday, March 10, 7:00 P.M.
Sophisticated Heartland Bounty
Although it boasts more than 100 years of history, the Madison Club is anything but old-fashioned, thanks to its talented chefs. Daniel Fox and Jason Veal bring a passion for locavore practices and hand crafted artisanal products to this historical venue.
Friday, March 11, 7:00 P.M.
Trotter Disciple
At Philadelphia’s chic Square 1682, chef Guillermo Tellez, former chef de cuisine for Charlie Trotter, creates bold New American dishes influenced by Mexican, Indian, and Asian culinary traditions. His globe-trotting cuisine has been praised by Philadelphia Inquirer restaurant critic Craig LaBan as “imaginative, artful, and fun.”
