Le Bec-Fin Alum
For the past three years, we’ve recognized Charles Roman, an alum of Philadelphia’s Le Bec-Fin and Vetri, as a JBF Rising Star Chef award semifinalist for his work at his first solo venue, Blackfish. Join us for a taste of this young chef’s seafood-focused, progressive American cuisine at his Beard House debut.
Tuesday, October 19, 7:00 P.M.
Sensational Italian
In 2008 Scott Conant, who rose to fame as the chef of Alto and L’Impero, made a triumphant return to the NYC dining scene with Scarpetta. Now, with the openings of Faustina and Scarpetta locations in Miami and Toronto, as well as a hit Food Network show, Conant has cemented his position as one of the most creative chefs cooking Italian food today.
Wednesday, October 20, 7:00 P.M.
Wild Mushroom Study
An alum of Paris’s Arpège, Taillevent, and Joël Robuchon’s Atelier, chef Tim Wiechmann, along with his wife, Bronwyn, is taking Cambridge by storm. At T.W. Food, handmade ingredients and painstakingly sourced produce—like the mushrooms the chef himself foraged for this menu—are the basis for the eatery’s cutting-edge cuisine.
Thursday, October 21, 7:00 P.M.
Celebrity Chef Tour: Baltimore
Host Chef Sean Curry
Celebrity Chef Tour events are dinners that benefit the James Beard Foundation, in which JBF Award winners and other celebrity chefs travel to private clubs, resorts, and other exclusive venues across America to prepare dinners and promote the culinary arts.
Thursday, October 21, 7:00 P.M.
Foie Gras and Friends
American foie gras pioneer Michael Ginor, along with a team of exceptional chefs, returns to the Beard House for a celebration of the decadent delicacy. Foie gras will star in each course, guaranteeing a meal that’s sure to enlighten even the food’s most passionate devotees.
Friday, October 22, 12:00 P.M.
Tutto Toscana Luncheon
We are thrilled to welcome back Gabriella Ganugi and the faculty of the prestigious Apicius culinary institute for an entire weekend of bold Tuscan flavors. Their event series, Tutto Toscana, kicks off with a pasta luncheon that celebrates the region’s diverse forms of Italy’s beloved starchy staple.
Friday, October 22, 7:00 P.M.
Contemporary Italian Cocktail Party
For a twist on happy hour, we’re throwing an Italian-style aperitivo, a Florentine evening ritual of light drinks and small bites at a bar or enoteca. The returning Apicius team will supply refreshing cocktails and wines—as well as an assortment of tasty canapés—to help you end your week on a fabulous note. Ciao, darling.
Saturday, October 23, 7:00 P.M.
Tutto Toscana Dinner
Tuscany may be steeped in tradition, but its new generation of chefs proves that the region keeps an eye on the future, too. At this special Beard House dinner, our friends from the Apicius International School of Hospitality will prepare a menu of experimental and modern dishes made with the region’s historically rich ingredients.
