Bay Area Asian All-Stars
The San Francisco Bay Area has long been home to some of the best Asian cuisine in the country. These days, much of the credit is due to the cooking of this esteemed group of chefs, who will be joining us at the Beard House for an extraordinary showcase dinner.
Tuesday, October 5, 7:00 P.M.
Hawaiian Surf and Turf
In the not-always-temperate climes of the Windy City, the Hawaiian-inspired cuisine at Sola is a welcome oasis. Run by California native and self-proclaimed “surfer girl” Carol Wallack along with chef de cuisine Aleksiy Shalev, the critically lauded Sola features Pacific Rim influences in a chic urban setting.
Wednesday, October 6, 12:00 P.M.
Beard on Books
Co-founder and former editor of Saveur Colman Andrews presents the first-ever Ferran Adrià biography, Ferran: The Inside Story of El Bulli and the Man Who Reinvented Food. As the era of El Bulli comes to a close in 2011, Andrews digs deep to find out what motivates Adrià, a culinary genius who altered the food world forever with his visionary creativity and daring techniques. Both entertaining and intimate, Andrew’s chronicle of Adrià is nothing else if not inspirational, proving that even those who don’t follow a traditional life path can become wildly successful.

Caribbean Luxury Retreat
Relaxation and indulgence are what it’s all about at Caneel Bay, a luxurious resort in the U.S. Virgin Islands that emphasizes the natural beauty and seclusion of its location. At the property’s restaurants chef Anthony Dawodu delights guests with decadent American dishes infused with a Caribbean spirit.

Holy Mole
Join some of the brightest stars in Mexican cuisine for a spectacular south-of-the-border feast. Cookbook author and Food Network star Marcela Valladolid joins Aarón Sanchez and Patricio Sandoval to create a dinner featuring the fresh, vibrant, and delicious fare that has made these talented chefs some of the most sought-after authorities on Mexican food.

A Symphony of Spice
Explore the rich and complex flavors of India at this celebration of the country’s delicious cuisine. We’ve invited innovative chef Floyd Cardoz of New York’s Tabla, cookbook author and noted Indian cooking authority Madhur Jaffrey, and cookbook author and restaurateur Suvir Saran to collaborate on a distinctly memorable menu of classic and modern dishes.
