Beard on Books
The immensely talented and JBF Award–winning chef Thomas Keller shares recipes for comforting, family-style food in his third cookbook, Ad Hoc At Home. Inspired by the casual Napa restaurant that was meant to be temporary but is now a permanent favorite, the tome inspires confidence in even the most novice home cook, opening with America’s favorite protein, poultry, and ending with essential staples that jazz up any meal. With whimsical photographs and step-by-step instructions, Ad Hoc At Home is both a pleasure to flip through and an indispensible guide to slowing down and savoring life’s simple pleasures.
Wednesday, September 29, 7:00 P.M.
West Coast Italian
It’s fitting that Osteria Stellina is named, in part, for the Italian word meaning “tiny star,” as local ingredients truly shine in chef Christian Caiazzo’s cuisine. Come see why this charming Point Reyes Italian venue has become a Marin County destination, as well as one of food critic Michael Bauer’s favorite Bay Area restaurants.
Thursday, September 30, 7:00 P.M.
Coastal Mediterranean
After apprenticing with JBF Award winners Susanna Foo, Patrick O’Connell, and Mark Militello, Michael Fiorelli joined the breathtaking Terranea Resort as executive chef at mar’sel. At the romantic, oceanside restaurant, Fiorelli cooks modern Mediterranean cuisine, much of it sourced from the resort’s backyard garden.
Friday, October 1, 7:00 P.M.
Palm Beach Grandeur
In an increasingly casual restaurant industry, L’Escalier at the Breakers Palm Beach remains an elegant outpost for luxurious haute cuisine. Chef Gregory Vassos, who trained under Eric Ripert, offers diners a truly unique dining experience with award-winning contemporary French cuisine enhanced with techniques of molecular gastronomy.
Saturday. October 2, 7:00 P.M.
Southern Pork Tribute
Popular Atlanta chef Justin Keith brings his Southern hospitality back to the Beard House for an all-out homage to swine. Keith, who charms Food 101 guests nightly with his creative take on traditional American fare, promises to make pork lovers swoon at this posh pig-out.
