Winter Fancy

Enlightened Eaters

As an activist and co-founder of the Restaurant Opportunities Center, Saru Jayaraman writes the back-of-house story of American dining in her latest book, Behind the Kitchen Door. Urging us to look beyond the food on our plates to the hands that serve and prepare it, Saru advocates for the improvement of working conditions in an industry often plagued by exploitation and discrimination, with hope of a dining experience that is positive for everyone.

Chesapeake Bounty

For the best fine dining in Baltimore, Charm City dwellers flock to Fleet Street Kitchen and the brand-new Cunningham’s. Join us in welcoming the Bagby Restaurant Group team to the Beard House, where they will prepare a soulful winter menu crafted from the rich bounty of the Mid-Atlantic region.

New York City’s Melting Pot

Tucked away in a quaint 18th-century carriage house on a winding street of New York City's West Village neighborhood lies the romantic mainstay One if by Land, Two if by Sea. Friday, January 17, 12:00 P.M.

Midwinter Lunch

After rising through the ranks at Bouley and Per Se, David Santos gained his own cult following with his private supper club, Um Segredo, which he hosted from his apartment. Now at the helm of New York City's Louro, he serves up modern American cuisine that draws flavor from his Portuguese roots.
