No purchase necessary. Purchase will not improve chances of winning. Starting at 3:30 P.M. EST on November 13, 2012, the James Beard Foundation will invite Twitter accounts that follow the official James Beard Foundation Twitter account (http://twitter.com/beardfoundation) to “tweet” the following message: "The Essential James Beard Cookbook is on sale now! Retweet for a chance to win a copy! #essentialjamesbeard." Twitter users may enter by “tweeting” or “retweeting” the exact message via Twitter. Tweets submitted at and after 12:00 A.M. on Saturday, November 17, 2011, will not be eligible.
Only residents who are 21 and older and residing in the 50 United States or the District of Columbia are eligible to enter. Void where prohibited by law.
The winners of the sweepstakes will be chosen at random. The James Beard Foundation is not responsible for and will not consider incomplete or incorrect entries, or entries submitted but not received by the James Beard Foundation for any reason, as potential sweepstakes winners.
The winners of this sweepstakes will be notified direct message on Twitter.. The individuals replying to these communications will be considered the winners. Claiming of prizes requires communication to the James Beard Foundation within 14 days of being notified, and must be received from the Twitter account to which the winner-notification message was sent. Failure to respond shall mean that the winner forfeits the prize. The James Beard Foundation will randomly select a new winner if the original winner fails to respond.
Only one entry per Twitter account will be considered for sweepstakes entry. The prizewinner must supply the James Beard Foundation with his/her legal name, mailing address, birth date, and daytime telephone number in order to claim the prize. The winner may not request substitutions of prize winnings. The winner is solely responsible for any and all taxes and/or fees, and all such additional costs that may be incurred.
Neither the James Beard Foundation, the James Beard Foundation sponsors, nor employees of the James Beard Foundation or sponsors may be held liable for any warranty, costs, damage, injury, or any other claims incurred as a result of usage of any winners of a prize once winner has taken possession of the product.
The James Beard Foundation is not liable for any loss arising out of or in connection with or resulting from any sweepstakes or contest promoted by the James Beard Foundation. Management, employees and families of the James Beard Foundation are prohibited from winning any prizes awarded by the James Beard Foundation.
