Barbecue legend Ed Mitchell is famous for his succulent North Carolina–style chopped whole hog—served with the area’s tangy apple cider vinegar sauce, of course—but he has also made a name for himself by recruiting area hog farmers to raise the fatty, pastured pigs whose flavorful meat he remembers from childhood.

Moving beyond the chophouse template, the chefs at the helm of the acclaimed Del Frisco’s steakhouses have designed an elegant, European-inspired menu. Accompanying them at the Beard House will be the restaurant group’s wine director, David O’Day, who has chosen a heavenly selection of wines to pair with the meal.

“This is the best damn party I’ve been to out here all year,” was the way one Hamptons reveler put it. The sun shone bright and clear as we kicked off our nineteenth annual Chefs & Champagne on Saturday. More than 500 gathered under the tent to enjoy an incredible summer menu prepared by a fantastic team of chefs and to fête guests of honor Alex von Bidder and Julian Niccolini of the Four Seasons.
We have always loved this event because the chefs participating have just as much fun as the guests attending. The Farm Stand
Join us for a delicious evening filled with all things local and sustainable. Guests will sample great food prepared by some of New York City’s most talented farm-dedicated chefs, along with delectable New York State wines and beers. You’ll also have a chance to win restaurant gift certificates and other prizes as you support a great cause.
Funds raised from this event will support both the James Beard Foundation and Food Bank For New York City. The proceeds will be used to purchase farm shares from Roxbury Farm, so members of the Food Bank's Community Kitchen will have access to fresh fruits and vegetables during the growing season.
