As the weekend nears, we often find ourselves lusting after a quick dive into the boozy embrace of a perfectly crafted cocktail. And what better way to accomplish such a feat than with a libation from a 2015 semifinalist for our Outstanding Bar Program award? A jilted John Lee Hooker comforted himself with “one bourbon, one scotch, one beer.” Those wanting a more efficient consolation should seek out this marvelous cocktail by mixologist Jamie Boudreau from Seattle's acclaimed Canon. “It came about as John Lee Hooker's song came on the sound system. It made me realize that I hadn't heard of or seen a cocktail with bourbon, scotch and beer as ingredients, so I set about to make one. On the Menu: April Bloomfield, Pork, and Malt

April Bloomfield When the Michelin Guide revealed its latest list of starred restaurants earlier this month, we saw that the Spotted Pig garnered a star for the fifth year in a row. The dedicated April Bloomfield undoubtedly has her fingerprints all over  the gastro-pub's ongoing success, and we'll be jockeying for seats at the Breslin when it starts serving lunch this week.
