Foodspotting: Kevin Zraly Takes The Floor

Kevin Zraly By now you know that Foodspotting managed to snag a pretty prime spot in the private room where all the winners are passing through. Celebrated wine expert and teacher Kevin Zraly wandered in fresh from accepting his 2011 JBF Lifetime Achievement Award and decided to take a seat on the floor. He said he wanted to do something different, so he did. Who wants a boring photo of winners standing anyway? Clearly all you have to do is look down—the shoes! LOOK AT THE SHOES!—to get a sense of the winners' true personalities. - Amy Cao

Awards Watch: Dan Kluger, where were you when…?

Dan Kluger, chef of Best New Restaurant winner ABC Kitchen, told us he had a good feeling that they would be nominated, but had no idea that they would come up big tonight: “We had a good feeling about it. It was a Monday, my day off, so I was home and had decided to try to follow the announcements on Twitter. I started receiving a lot of nice congratulatory emails. We hoped for something like this, but you can never expect it. It’s amazing to be nominated.” Congratulations, Dan! And to all the nominees and winners tonight!

Foodspotting: Mr. Keller Inspires More Shoe Pics!

Amped is the only way to describe how I currently feel after briefly talking to the legendary Thomas Keller. You already know what he looks like, but what was most interesting to us was that he looked especially dashing with his fabulous shoes, upon which were inscribed the words "Death" and "Glory." Definitely did not expect that!  ~Fiona
