Regional Salons
As part of the ongoing research and planning for our annual conference, the James Beard Foundation, in association with Karp Resources, conducts a series of regional salons around the country on various topics and themes related to the conference. A small group of diverse stakeholders in the local food system—including chefs, farmers, food producers, distributors, policy makers, urban planners, academics, and others—are invited to a casual conversation in a James Beard affiliated restaurant. Previous salons have been held in Portland, Minneapolis, Louisville, Atlanta, and New York City.
In 2012, we will be exploring the theme of trust as it pertains to the food system at salon conversations in Charleston, New Orleans, and Detroit, as well as other cities. For information about participating in, hosting, or supporting a salon, please email us at foodconference@jamesbeard.org.
