Karey B. Johnson grew up with coastal dishes and an enthusiasm for marine life. She began her culinary career in Houston, Texas, working in restaurants throughout high school and college, and then in New York City. Later in London, Karey kicked off a food and catering business from scratch, which she ran for eight years. Now as chef and owner of GLOW in Rockport on the Texas coast, Karey works to build awareness and support of sustainable fishing and farming through the joy of simple coastal cooking. Karey is a cookbook author, a weekly food columnist for the Caller Times and cooking teacher at Whole Foods in Austin. Karey is founder of Coastal Flavors Food + Drink , a weekend celebrating seafood, wines and music on the coast.
