Thank God for winter citrus: during the year's drabber months, these seasonal fruits light up markets like signal flares. While citrus will inject brightness into any wintertime dish, we like to reserve ours for making punchy and refreshing desserts.

 

Load up on tangerines, Meyer lemons, and all manner of oranges to make these citrus-based desserts from our recipe collection, including JBF Award winner Michael Schwartz's Meyer Lemon Pudding Cake; a nostalgic tangerine-flavored float from Las Vegas pastry chef Megan Romano; and a homey orange and olive oil cake.
