To celebrate our 30th anniversary, we’re sharing 30 Years in 30 Days, an exclusive 30-episode digital series featuring noteworthy chefs and culinary icons who will help us tell the story of the Foundation’s history in the 30 days leading up to an exciting television premiere: 30 Years: A Celebration of the James Beard Foundation, airing Sunday, November 26, at 4:00 P.M. (ET) on ABC. The exciting television special will feature appearances by industry icons Mario Batali, Daniel Boulud, Tom Colicchio, Traci des Jardins, Carla Hall, Emeril Lagasse, Jacques Pepin, Gail Simmons, Martha Stewart, Ming Tsai, and Marcus Samuelsson, who will help us tell the story of our history and evolution.

On our ninth installment of 30 Years in 30 Days, we’ve got the Institute of Culinary Education's president Rick Smilow. Formerly Peter Kump’s New York Cooking School, ICE has been intertwined with the James Beard Foundation since its beginnings. Here, Rick Smilow celebrates JBF’s scholarship program, the culinary education, and our role in building an appreciation for great chefs.
