Guests enjoy dinner in the Beard House dining room. Here’s what’s happening at the Beard House and around the country next week: Tuesday, July 20, 6:30 P.M. Sunset Summer Cruise Looking for dinner and a view? Guests on this sumptuous sunset cruise will enjoy panoramic vistas of the New York City skyline and an impeccable, regionally inspired menu of canapés prepared by Larry Forgione protégé Philip Campanella while sailing around Manhattan on the magnificent Valiant Yacht. Tuesday, July 20, 6:30 P.M. The Farm Stand The JBF Greens and Food Bank For New York City Young Professionals are joining forces once again for an evening of all things local and sustainable. Guests will sample great food prepared by some of New York City's most talented farm-dedicated chefs and herb- and flower-infused cocktails from master mixologist Junior Merino. Local wines and Stella beers will also be served. Guests will have a chance to win restaurant gift certificates and other prizes as they support two great causes. Funds raised from this event will support both the James Beard Foundation's mission and Food Bank For New York City’s efforts to purchase farm shares from Roxbury Farm so members of their Community Kitchen will have access to fresh fruits and vegetables during the growing season. Wednesday, July 21, 7:00 P.M. Southern Italian Charm An exquisite dining destination set among the breathtaking beauty of Arizona’s Pinnacle Peak, Sassi receives raves for executive chef Peter DeRuvo’s refined, Southern Italian–inspired cuisine. The Bay Area–trained chef, who worked under Chez Panisse alums Paul Bertolli and Michael Tusk, helped the restaurant garner a coveted AAA Four-Diamond award. Thursday, July 22, 7:00 P.M. Old-World vs. New-World Wines With 1515 Restaurant’s contemporary American menu, chef Chuck James brings an edge to fine dining in Denver, while keeping an eye toward local and organic ingredients. At his oenophilic debut in New York City, an old-world and new-world wine will be served to complement each innovative course. Friday, July 23, 7:00 P.M. Celebrity Chef Tour: Crested Butte, CO Guest Celebrity Chef Ryan Hardy The Little Nell/ Aspen, CO Celebrity Chef Tour events are dinners that benefit the James Beard Foundation, in which JBF Award winners and other celebrity chefs travel to private clubs, resorts, and other exclusive venues across America to prepare dinners and promote the culinary arts.  Chefs & Champagne® New York is the James Beard Foundation's annual summer gala. The event is a sumptuous tasting party featuring flowing Champagnes, the wines of Wölffer Estate Vineyard, and culinary offerings from a select group of more than 30 fine chefs, many from JBF Award–winning restaurants.
