Monday, January 26, 7:00 P.M.
The Butcher and The Chef
As a young apprentice butcher at Jefferson Market, Salvatore Petruso delivered meats to James Beard at the icon’s Greenwich Village townhouse. Now at the helm of Westwood Prime Meats, Petruso is teaming up with chef John Vitale of Tuscan-inspired Caffe Anello for an evening that will showcase some of Beard’s butcher-shop favorites.

New York Meets Copenhagen
At Noho hot spot Acme, well-heeled urban locavores clamor for a reservation to sample Noma co-founder Mads Refslund’s world-renowned Nordic fare. For this can’t-miss Beard House event, the Danish chef will bring his farm-to-table, hyper seasonal ethos to our diners with a winter menu highlighting his devotion to smoking, fermenting, and pickling the previous season’s bounty.

Beard on Books: Mastering My Mistakes in the Kitchen
In her new book, Mastering My Mistakes in the Kitchen, the longtime editor-in-chief of Food & Wine reveals her deep, dark secret: she couldn’t cook. Thankfully, she had an army of all-star chefs to teach her, and she shares their insights through 100 of her favorite recipes. Featuring advice and stories from April Bloomfield, Tom Colicchio, and more, this book will turn a culinary novice into a kitchen pro.

D.C. Women Chefs Rock
Watch out, New York: this all-woman group of D.C. power players is coming to town on a delicious diplomatic mission. Several of the biggest food names in and around our nation’s capital will be reaching across the burners to collaborate during what promises to be a spectacular and spirited evening.

Philly Star
A standard-bearer of fine dining in Philadelphia, Fork received a shot of culinary adrenaline when chef Eli Kulp of New York’s Torrisi took over the kitchen last fall. The 2014 Food & Wine Best New Chef has received glowing reviews ever since, including a three-bell rave from Craig LaBan of the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Friday, January 30, 7:00 P.M.
Smoke and Mirrors
Experience the magic of an event master at work when Olivier Cheng brings his polished, chic cuisine to the Beard House for a spectacular dinner. The night’s menu is a riff on the theme of smoke, wisps of which appear in several dishes, and mirrors, as reflected by Cheng’s artful presentation.
