Women in Culinary Leadership Dinner

The James Beard Foundation and Vermilion will host a thought-provoking panel discussion and five-course Indian-Latin fusion dinner to create awareness of the rarity of women in leadership roles in the culinary industry. In addition, Vermilion founder Rohini Dey will announce the launch of the James Beard Foundation/Vermilion Women in Culinary Leadership Scholarship, as well as the ongoing Chefs for Women program at Vermilion. (Note: this event will take place at Vermilion restaurant in New York City.)

Julia Child Centennial Celebration

April Bloomfield takes us on a behind-the-scenes tour of her celebrated restaurants and into her own kitchen in A Girl and Her Pig: Recipes and Stories. With an emphasis on seasonal produce and a nose-to-nail ethos, the cookbook combines exquisite yet refreshingly straightforward recipes with captivating narratives that describe Bloomfield's journey from industrial Birmingham, England, to the apex of the culinary world.

Talk of the Town

Culinary trends come and go, but the solid American cuisine served at the wildly popular Charley’s Steakhouse and the other terrific restaurants under the Talk of the Town restaurant group’s umbrella is always in demand.
