Friends of James Beard Benefits: New Orleans

Come celebrate the Tricentennial of New Orleans at one of the most important and historic restaurants in the French Quarter, Brennan’s Restaurant, with proprietors Ralph Brennan and Terry White, along with chef Slade Rushing, a multi-year nominee for the James Beard award for Best Chef: South. Walk the footsteps of the renowned culinary master, James Beard, as the Brennan's team recreates the gastronomical exploration of his 1978 visit to New Orleans. This five-course dinner, paired with original, classically prepared New Orleans cocktails and prominent vintages from notable wineries, will be the first of a Tricentennial dinner series at Brennan's, and will honor the storied dishes that Beard savored during that visit to the Crescent City—from Bacon and Eggs Risotto to Crayfish à la Bordelaise. James Beard went on to become a significant influence on the city, particularly for this iconic Royal Street establishment, which celebrates innovative Creole cuisine. Brennan’s is pleased to welcome 100 guests to this exclusive event as we celebrate 300 years and honor those important individuals, like James Beard, who have contributed to the culinary landscape of New Orleans. Brennan's is proudly welcoming each New Orleans James Beard Award recipient to this special evening, and a portion of the proceeds will benefit the James Beard Foundation.
