Here’s a taste of what’s on tap today at JBF.

 

JBF Greens: Tacos, Tequila, and Beer Beach Bash, 6:30 P.M.
Michael Armstrong, Bodega Negra, NYC

James Beard Foundation Greens (foodies under 40) will join chef Michael Armstrong of Bodega Negra at The Beach at Dream Downtown for a fabulous night of dinner under the stars. The JBF Greens will enjoy a family-style meal of chef Armstong’s delicious Mexican specialties while sipping Negro Modelo, Modelo Especial, and tequila cocktails in The Beach’s cabanas. Expect decadent dishes like Razor Clam Ceviche with Passion Fruit–Ají Amarillo Salsa; Braised Oxtail Sopes with Crema and Pickled Jicama; and Bodega Taco Supreme with Housemade Hard Taco Shell and Ground Wagyu Beef.

Jay Caputo, Pilot Town Fish Co., Milton, DE; Beachside Bar & Grill and Espuma Restaurant and Martini Bar, Rehoboth, DE

At Pilot Town Fish Co., the latest spot in Jay Caputo’s Delaware restaurant empire, the four-time JBF Award semifinalist honors the shoreline of his home through globally inspired plates. For this dinner, Caputo is reaching from reel to ranch for an over-the-top feast where land meets sea in every bite, such as in the Spicy Pork–Lobster Lettuce Wraps with Yellow Pepper Foam and Candied Peanuts; Crispy Skate Wing with Sichuan Baby Squash, Pickled Maitake Mushrooms, Pea Shoots, and Kombu–Bacon Broth; and  Veal Tenderloin with Smith Island Crab, Corn Agnolotti, and Red Curry Sauce
