The Lyric Opera of Chicago is where the red carpet unfurls and winners are crowned, but chefs and Award–weekend revelers all know that the party truly gets started the night before at Chefs’ Night Out, our annual industry soirée that gives nominees and other hospitality pros a chance to celebrate and unwind before the main event.

This year Chefs’ Night Out took place at Revel, a converted warehouse located in Chicago’s historic Fulton Market neighborhood, where many of the city’s most acclaimed restaurants are located. As always, the event delivered on its promise of a great party, offering abundant samples of burgers and other bites, plus flowing cocktails and bubbly. Guests could even pluck cones of pommes frites from a roving wheelbarrow, or grab a popsicle from a vintage-inspired ice cream bike.

For the second year in a row, our friends at Mariano’s fired up their own karaoke stage, complete with an accompanying band, giving guests the opportunity to see chefs like Gale Gand and others show off their pipes and belt out everything from Adele to Blondie to Prince.
