We've partnered with Simmer, a new app that allows you to generate step-by-step recipe videos that you can create, watch, and share from your very own kitchen. In the coming weeks and months, we'll continue sharing instructional videos that will teach you how to create tantalizing dishes from JBF Award winners, Beard House chefs, and even Beard himself, all prepared in James Beard's historic New York City kitchen.

At the Violet Hour, which took home our 2015 Outstanding Bar Program award, mixologists craft an eclectic selection of artisanal cocktails with masterful and painstaking precision. One of our all-time favorites is the Hush and Wonder, a rum-based libation featuring a subtle Crème de Violette rinse. With an elegant, floral undertone and bright notes from fresh lime juice and grapefruit bitters, this drink is the perfect start to your weekend. But don't fret if you can't make it to the Chicago hot spot to try it out: in the video below, special projects manager Anna Mowry demonstrates how to mix up the delightful cocktail in your own kitchen.
