Join the JBF Greens (foodies under 40) for an in-depth demonstration on how to make restaurant-quality pizza at home with Pizza a Casa Pizza School founder and executive chef Mark Bello. Chef Bello will reveal the secrets to superior pies, including a foolproof dough recipe, kneading and stretching techniques, making a speedy sauce from scratch, and fundamental topping tactics.
After the demo, the Greens will adjourn to the dining room for quick lesson from Michael Skurnik Wines Italian Portfolio manager Mark Fornatale on which wines pair best with pizza. We’ll move from discussion to dinner with a tasting of Pizza a Casa Pizza School's signature pies, each paired with a wine selected by Mark Fornatale, including an unusual still, dry Brachetto, and an aged Barolo.
Tickets to events held at the James Beard House cover the cost of food and a unique dining experience. Dinners are prepared by culinary masters from all regions of the United States and around the world. All alcoholic beverages are provided on a complimentary basis and are not included in the ticket price.
