Gung Hay Fat Choy! Join us for a virtual celebration of Lunar New Year, in the Year of the Ox, which promises hard work, positivity and honesty. Esteemed JBF Award Winning cookbook author and historian Grace Young will give us context for some of the ingredients and rituals, while JBF Award Nominated chef Brandon Jew of the Michelin-starred Mister Jiu’s will demonstrate a dish that expresses modern Chinese cookery, traditional symbolism and good fortune.  They’ll also discuss the current status of Chinatowns in San Francisco and NYC, two historic immigrant communities that continue to shape our American identity. We could all use a little good fortune these days!
