“The food and the culture in Singapore are completely synonymous,” observed Jessica Largey, JBF’s 2015 Rising Star award winner, during her recent culinary adventure to Singapore. Largey, along with 2015 Rising Star semifinalist “JJ” Johnson, visited the Southeast Asian nation earlier this summer, marveling at the diversity of food and the flavorful combination of different cultures.

Like Jessica and JJ, anyone who has visited Singapore knows that this city-state’s multi-cultural roots are vividly expressed through its local cuisine. Check out highlights from their trip below:

The trip was a sneak peek of JBF’s fall gala, themed “Singapore’s Culinary Crossroads” and presented by Singapore Tourism Board, where we’ll be celebrating the culinary crossroads of Singapore with an exchange of chefs from East and West. The evening’s headliners include Alfred Portale, Cat Cora, and Rainbow Room host chefs Robert Aikens and Kyung Kim, along with some of Singapore’s most celebrated chefs, including Cheryl Koh of Tarte and Les Amis, LG Han of Restaurant Labyrinth, and Yew Eng Tong of Ocean Restaurant by Cat Cora.
