New York City’s Rainbow Room may be a Big Apple icon, but on Friday, November 11, guests at the historic venue were transported to Singapore at the 2016 JBF Gala: Singapore’s Culinary Crossroads. Featuring an exchange of chefs from East and West, the evening’s headliners include some of the city-state’s most talented chefs, including Cheryl Koh of Tarte and Les Amis, LG Han of Restaurant Labyrinth, and Yew Eng Tong of Ocean Restaurant by Cat Cora.

JBF Award winner Alfred Portale, who sits on Singapore Airlines’ International Culinary Panel, Iron Chef America’s Cat Cora, and Rainbow Room executive chef Robert Aikens were also in the kitchen.

The evening’s menu included dishes like LG Han’s miso blue lobster with burnt chile cream and black pepper tuile and Alfred Portale’s Singaporean braised beef short rib, as well as two sprawling dessert stations courtesy of Cheryl Koh and Rainbow Room pastry chef Kyung Kim.
