  • A woman with at least two years experience in the hospitality industry; in the kitchen, dining room, and/or office
  • At the beginning of your culinary career
  • Interested in an accelerated, learning-by-doing mentorship program with a prestigious restaurant group

The James Beard Foundation Women in Culinary Leadership Program (WCL) is right for you.

The WCL Program offers young women working in the industry the opportunity to acquire or hone their culinary and management skills while working in established restaurants. Applicants may apply for an eight-month program in either chef management (back-of-house) or hospitality management (front-of-house). Get more information.

  • A current owner or co-owner of 1 – 2 restaurants or food businesses in the United States, with a strong desire to learn, network, and grow your business 
  • Interested in an intensive entrepreneurial management program that also provides gender-specific training and leadership development

The James Beard Foundation Women’s Entrepreneurial Leadership Program (WEL) is right for you.

The WEL Program offers women chef/owners intensive entrepreneurial and leadership training program that will run September 10 – 15, 2017, co-developed and hosted by Babson College.  The curriculum will address advanced business, finance, and marketing concerns, while also emphasizing work/life balance and cultural issues.
