Erica Helms
Erica has over 20 years of experience driving growth and impact for organizations focused on food systems and environmental sustainability. She brings demonstrated skill in fundraising, strategic planning, partnership development, and program design.
Erica was most recently Managing Director of Philanthropy at the MAD Foundation, the global nonprofit founded by chef René Redzepi of Restaurant noma. At MAD, Erica led U.S. fundraising and partnership development, spearheading revenue generation to relaunch the influential MAD Symposium for hospitality industry leaders.
Prior to MAD, Erica was Chief Advancement Officer at New York Restoration Project (NYRP), a conservancy founded by Bette Midler that is dedicated to ensuring equitable access to green space for all New Yorkers. At NYRP, Erica secured the funding to launch a new citywide urban agriculture education program and build dozens of vibrant community gardens and parks.
Erica served as Director of Strategy at Stone Barns Center for Food and Agriculture, the nonprofit farm and education campus that works in partnership with Blue Hill restaurant. She helped design and lead the organization's evolution from local to national impact, overseeing philanthropic revenue and expanding educational programming through strategic partnerships and scholarship initiatives.
Erica received a B.A. in American Studies from Yale University. She lives in the New York City area with her husband and two daughters.
