Heather Varian
Heather has 20+ years of experience driving revenue growth and donor engagement for mission-driven nonprofits. Heather was most recently Principal of Heather Varian Consulting, where she partnered with nonprofits to establish fundraising operations, design solicitation programs, and develop multi-year growth strategies for clients ranging from nascent organizations to established national health foundations. Prior to launching her own firm, Heather served as Vice President of Development at the New York Immigration Coalition, where she led the development team to exceed ambitious fundraising goals. Under her leadership, NYIC modernized its development operations, overhauled its gala and set consecutive event fundraising records, and helped secure an eight-figure state contract to support asylum seekers. Heather served as the Director of Stewardship at the Brooklyn College Foundation helping to ensure donors were connected to and inspired by their giving. Heather has also overseen corporate philanthropy at both the Point Foundation and The Trevor Project, managing robust corporate funding portfolios and partnerships. Heather holds a B.A. in Political Science and Women's Studies from the University of Minnesota. She lives in Brooklyn.
