Special events at the Beard House are grounded in our mission of Good Food for Good®, highlighting not only delicious food and drinks, but also the incredible participants behind our initiatives like the James Beard House Fellows presented by Capital One, Smart Catch, Women’s Entrepreneurial Leadership, the Legacy Network, and more.

BEARD HOUSE FELLOWS EVENTS

In May 2021, we launched the Beard House Fellows program presented by Capital One, which re-envisions the potential of the James Beard House into a hub of training and professional development for talented emerging chefs. Featuring alums of Careers Through Culinary Arts (C-CAP) partnered schools, each Fellow will have a ten-week residency at the Beard House, where JBF will provide hard skills training along with the opportunity to develop a meal kit, in collaboration with Great Performances, that will be available across the country.

COMMON GROUND EVENT SERIES

In honor of James Beard’s belief that “food is our common ground,” the Common Ground Event Series celebrates national holidays, heritage months, and community moments throughout the year. The series’ events bring culinary talent to the iconic James Beard House for dinners, tastings, book talks, volunteer events, and more that welcome the community and highlight the Foundation’s programs to support the food and beverage industry.
