To celebrate our 30th anniversary, we’re sharing 30 Years in 30 Days, an exclusive 30-episode digital series featuring noteworthy chefs and culinary icons who will help us tell the story of the Foundation’s history in the 30 days leading up to an exciting television premiere: 30 Years: A Celebration of the James Beard Foundation, airing Sunday, November 26, at 4:00 P.M. (ET) on ABC. The exciting television special will feature appearances by industry icons Daniel Boulud, Tom Colicchio, Traci des Jardins, Carla Hall, Emeril Lagasse, Jacques Pepin, Gail Simmons, Martha Stewart, Ming Tsai, and Marcus Samuelsson, who will help us tell the story of our history and evolution.

On our 24th installment of 30 Years in 30 Days, we’ve got Beard Award winner Jonathan Waxman, who reminisces about joining Wolfgang Puck in 1987 to cook the very first Beard House dinner and shares his fond memories of James Beard, including how he joked about remembering with perfect accuracy everything he ate in his entire life.

Watch the video above, and be sure to stay tuned as we continue to share these poignant pieces over the next month.
