The United States spends more than $218 billion each year growing, processing, transporting, and disposing of food that is never eaten, and almost half of the food produced in the U.S. ends up in the garbage and in landfills (read the 2016 ReFED report on food waste for more information). "We're all participants in the food-waste issue," says chef, author, and two-time JBF Boot Camp alum Steven Satterfield. "You're either part of the problem or part of the solution." Join our most recent JBF Boot Camp participants in being part of the solution. Head over to Instagram this month and show us how you're turning food waste into flavor!
