It’s no secret that the biggest draws of this month’s Chefs & Champagne® New York will be tastings from more than 35 chefs, the constant popping of bottles of bubbly, and the picturesque setting of Wölffer Estate, our gracious hosts. Best of all, the good times will benefit the James Beard Foundation and our educational initiatives.
Even if you won’t be joining us in Sagaponack this year, there’s still a way to offer your support. As you may have already heard, our Chefs & Champagne honoree is the inimitable Andrew Zimmern, who’s fresh off of a 2013 Beard Award win for Outstanding Personality/Host. The Bizarre Foods star has partnered with eyebobs, a reading glasses company specializing in eyewear "for the irreverent and slightly jaded." Eyebobs and Andrew have created the quirky “Zimm” frames, which you can order here. (A portion of every purchase goes to JBF.) What’s more, the company is also generously giving away a $100 gift certificate to one of our fans. Here’s how you can enter:
1. Make sure you’re following @beardfoundation on Twitter if you’re not already.
2. Tweet the bolded text from your Twitter account: I'm tweeting for a chance to win an @eyebobs gift certificate from @beardfoundation! http://www.jamesbeard.org/blog/giveaway-eyebobs-gift-certificate #JBFChefsandChampagne (Make sure to include the hashtag!)
Simply retweet the above message after someone else on Twitter tweets it.
We'll randomly select a winner of the gift certificate. The entry period ends at 5:00 EST on Friday, July 12. Good luck!
No purchase necessary. Purchase will not improve chances of winning. Starting at 10:00 A.M. EST on July 8, 2013, the James Beard Foundation, via the blog post located at http://www.jamesbeard.org/blog/giveaway-eyebobs-gift-certificate, will invite Twitter accounts that follow the official James Beard Foundation Twitter account (http://twitter.com/beardfoundation) to “tweet” the following message: "I'm tweeting for a chance to win an @eyebobs gift certificate from @beardfoundation! http://www.jamesbeard.org/blog/giveaway-eyebobs-gift-certificate #JBFChefsandChampagne".Twitter users may enter by “tweeting” or “retweeting” the exact message via Twitter. Tweets submitted at and after 5:00 P.M. on Friday, July 12, 2013, will not be eligible.
Only residents who are 21 and older and residing in the 50 United States or the District of Columbia are eligible to enter. Void where prohibited by law.
The winners of the sweepstakes will be chosen at random. The James Beard Foundation is not responsible for and will not consider incomplete or incorrect entries, or entries submitted but not received by the James Beard Foundation for any reason as potential sweepstakes winners.
The winners of this sweepstakes will be notified via direct message on Twitter. The individual replying to this communication will be considered the winners. Claiming of prizes requires communication to the James Beard Foundation and must be received from the Twitter account to which the winner-notification message was sent. Failure to respond within 30 days shall mean that the winner forfeits the prize. The James Beard Foundation will randomly select a new winner if the original winner fails to respond.
The prizewinner must supply the James Beard Foundation with his/her legal name, mailing address, birth date, and daytime telephone number in order to claim the prize. The winner may not request substitutions of prize winnings. The winner is solely responsible for any and all taxes and/or fees, and all such additional costs that may be incurred.
Neither the James Beard Foundation, eyebobs, the James Beard Foundation sponsors, nor employees of the James Beard Foundation, eyebobs, or sponsors may be held liable for any warranty, costs, damage, injury, or any other claims incurred as a result of usage of any winners of a prize once winner has taken possession of the product.
The James Beard Foundation and eyebobs are not liable for any loss arising out of or in connection with or resulting from any sweepstakes or contest promoted by the James Beard Foundation.
