This #MDW, we’re ready to bask in the warm weather with an icy-cold cocktail (or two) in hand. To kick off the unofficial start of summer, we have our eye on the groovy Johnny Utah cocktail, a vibrant drink courtesy of Erick Castro, partner at the buzzy San Diego hot spot Polite Provisions, a 2016 JBF Award semifinalist for Outstanding Bar Program. Castro recently joined us at the Beard House for an outstanding dinner filled with Cali bites and booze where he served up a round of this verdant drink (amongst other crave-worthy beverages). A huge hit, the Johnny Utah features fresh celery juice, tequila, seltzer, lime, and a dash of absinthe for a frothy, invigorating cocktail that will leave you ready for the best summer yet.
