Here’s a taste of what’s on tap today at the Beard House.

Greg Zanitsch, Sara Zanitsch, and Pastry Chef Samantha Ward, The Fig Tree Restaurant, Charlotte, NC
Charlotte’s the Fig Tree has been lauded as one of the city’s most romantic eateries and was twice named restaurant of the year by Charlotte Magazine. There, Greg Zanitsch plays culinary cupid, charming diners with his seasonally focused blend of French and Italian cuisines, complemented by award-winning wines. For his Beard House debut, Zanitsch and wife/partner Sara have enlisted Willamette Valley star Argyle Winery to celebrate an evening inspired by wine and friendship. Expect enticing plates like Tea-Smoked Duck with Pickled Cucumbers on Mushroom Duxelles Pancakes; Chanterelle Mushroom Panna Cotta with Bacon Dust, Taleggio, Crispy Shallot Vinaigrette, and Toasted Brioche; and Harmony Ridge Farms Duck Breast with Butternut Squash–Duck Confit Empanada, Thyme-Roasted Grapes, and Huckleberry Gastrique.
