The American, an iconic restaurant that opened in 1974 under the consultation of James Beard and other industry titans, has produced noteworthy chefs and is also the backdrop of the longest running Friends of James Beard Benefit. Join us as we return for the 24th dinner, led by new executive chef Jacob Moeller, our emcee and James Beard Award Winner Celina Tio, and a roster of fantastic guest chefs representing the next generation of talent.

This Annual Friends of James Beard Dinner at The American is part of the Friends of James Beard Benefit series; events hosted by generous people, businesses, and organizations outside of JBF that provide critical funding for our programs. Each event supports our mission to champion a standard of Good Food for Good® anchored in talent, equity, and sustainability.
