A Culinary Exploration of Mushrooms with the Author of "The Fantastic Fungi Community Cookbook"

Calling all fungi fans! Join author and mycologist Eugenia Bone for a talk, tasting, and demonstration that will explore how and why mushrooms act differently from other foods in the kitchen. With a demonstration that challenges mainstream cooking methods, Bone will reveal simple techniques developed to bring out the diverse flavors of mushrooms. She’ll lead a discussion that covers safety tips about preparing wild mushrooms, USDA-recommended preservation skills, and much more. Bites from The Fantastic Fungi Community Cookbook will be served along with a selection of wines.


The Fantastic Fungi Community Cookbook edited by Eugenia Bone is available for purchase with tickets and at the event from our friends as Kitchen Arts & Letters.

Should the event be cancelled due to any unforeseen circumstances, including COVID-19, JBF will offer a range of options, including ticket exchanges, the option to donate tickets, or a full refund. Tickets to events held at Platform at Pier 57 by the James Beard Foundation cover the cost of food, education and a unique dining experience. Meals are prepared by culinary masters from all regions of the United States and around the world. Unless otherwise stated, alcoholic beverages are provided on a complimentary basis and are not included in the ticket price.
