Join JBF Greens for modern Lebanese cuisine at sawa in Park Slope, Brooklyn.
Open since April 2024, sawa celebrates the joyful togetherness of Levantine cuisine from owner Samaya Boueri Ziade. Influenced by Lebanon's passionate culture of hospitality where the table and family are one, sawa features a menu of elevated Lebanese classics with a modern touch, bringing together spices and flavors from the region with ingredients from local farmers and producers. The kitchen is helmed by chef de cuisine Soroosh Golbabae, an Iranian-born and raised chef who honed his craft at New York standouts including Gramercy Tavern, Sofreh Cafe, and Eyval.
Translating to “together” in Arabic, the name “sawa” reflects the restaurant’s goal of creating a sense of community. Through an array of Middle Eastern dips, colorful mezze, and shareable entrées, diners are transported to the Beirut of Samaya's childhood.
For this occasion, guests will enjoy a three-course family-style feast that combines traditional flavors and aromas of Lebanon with a contemporary Brooklyn twist. Wine pairings will be generously donated by Chateau Ksara.
