As costs for restaurants continue to rise in all sectors of operation, notably in relation to the continued economic impact of climate change and extreme weather events, the James Beard Foundation is facilitating conversations between chefs, lawmakers, farmers, and media to help find solutions for independent restaurants and the farmers who supply them.

Join us in Pittsburgh on Thursday, February 19 for a roundtable featuring representatives of Congressman Chris Deluzio’s (PA-17) office, restaurants, farms, and community organizations, to empower a local network of change. We will share key updates on relevant legislation, including conservation programs, along with pointers on effective advocacy messaging.

Please feel free to invite chefs in your network, team members, and your local farmers and producers.

This event is part of the Climate Solutions for Restaurant Survival campaign, which is dedicated to tackling the significant impact of climate change on independent restaurants, chefs, and the local economies they support.

Please note that this session will not be live streamed or recorded, but we will be hosting more regional events this year.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions. We look forward to seeing you soon! And thank you for lending your voice to advancing solutions for climate and community resilience.

Thank you,
Dr. Anne E. McBride, James Beard Foundation
