The Hooker

Method

This creamy libation was inspired by blues musician John Lee Hooker's "One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer."

1 ounce bourbon
1/4 ounce Ardbeg scotch
1/2 ounce Averna
3 dashes Boker’s Bitters
3 dashes chocolate bitters
1/4 ounce simple syrup
1 egg white
2 ounces Maudite (or a similar Belgium strong dark ale)

Combine the bourbon, Ardberg, Averna, bitters, simple syrup, and egg white in a cocktail shaker. Add ice and shake vigorously. Strain into a chilled coupe glass. Top with the Maudite and serve.
