Vanilla Bean–Bourbon Milkshake
Milkshakes may bring all the boys to the yard, but you really just need one: Bobby Flay. The JBF Award–winning chef, restaurateur, and cookbook author offers a wide variety of the childhood favorite at his Bobby’s Burger Palace locations across the country and has devoted an entire chapter of his cookbook Bobby Flay’s Burgers, Fries, and Shakes to the nostalgic treat. Below, his recipe for a boozy classic.
½ cup whole milk
1 ounce (2 tablespoons) bourbon
½ fresh vanilla bean, split and seeds scraped
11 ounces premium vanilla ice cream (about 1 ¾ packed cups)
Combine the milk, bourbon, and vanilla bean seeds in a blender and blend until combined, about 5 seconds. Add the ice cream and blend until smooth, about 10 seconds.
