Proven Classics and Curious Upstarts from Burgundy and the Jura
Claud and Penny—two acclaimed East Village restaurants from the same celebrated team—come together for an engaging wine workshop and tasting focusing on different winemaking styles in Burgundy and the Jura. Both restaurants’ wine programs are deep dives into France’s most storied winemaking regions, offering the opportunity to enjoy legacy producers who define their appellations and the chance to discover new voices shaping their evolution.
This seminar, led by owner Chase Sinzer, Claud wine director Julia Schwartz, and Penny wine director Ellis Srubas-Giammanco, mirrors the philosophy behind both cellars: balancing the iconic and the emerging. Snacks from the Claud and Penny kitchens will accompany the tasting.

Should the event be cancelled due to any unforeseen circumstances, JBF will offer a range of options, including ticket exchanges, the option to donate tickets, or a full refund. Tickets to events held at Platform at Pier 57 by the James Beard Foundation cover the cost of food, education and a unique dining experience. Meals are prepared by culinary masters from all regions of the United States and around the world. Unless otherwise stated, alcoholic beverages are provided on a complimentary basis and are not included in the ticket price.
