Reimagining the Future of Food in Partnership with The Chefs’ Manifesto

Commemorate Climate Week NYC with an unforgettable dinner crafted by culinary changemakers chef Rick Bayless and Christine Lau. A collaboration between JBF's Climate Solutions for Restaurant Survival campaign and The Chefs’ Manifesto—a chef-led global network of over 1,700 chefs driving food system change—Bayless and Lau will present a thoughtful menu featuring seasonal, responsibly sourced ingredients that celebrate culture and community.

Rick Bayless is a James Beard Award–winning chef known internationally for shining a light on regional Mexican cuisine and for his tireless advocacy of small-scale farming and climate-smart practices. Through his multiple award-winning and Michelin-starred Frontera restaurants and the Frontera Farmer Foundation, Bayless has helped shape a more equitable and resilient food system, awarding over $3.5 million in grants to independent Midwest farms.

Christine Lau has been featured in Eater New York, Condé Nast Traveler, and Food & Wine. Her restaurant Kimika was a 2022 James Beard semifinalist. In 2023 she created the menu at Brooklyn's Chino Grande and was named 2024 NYC Finalist for the OpenTable Gold House Gold Chef Prize. Christine currently consults globally and creates pop-ups nationwide, weaving diverse cultures through food.

This one-night-only dinner will feature a cocktail reception with passed hors d'oeuvre upon arrival, an expertly crafted multi-course menu with thoughtfully curated wine or beverage pairings, and a Q&A with the featured chefs.

Event Policy

Reservation Policy:

All reservations are non-refundable and must be made in advance. Should the event be cancelled due to any unforeseen circumstances, JBF will offer a range of options, including ticket exchanges, the option to donate tickets, or a full refund. Dietary/Food Restrictions Policy:

Events at Platform by JBF are special one-night-only menus and we do not offer a la carte menus. If you have serious food allergies, we will work with the visiting chef team to do our best to accommodate but cannot guarantee that alternate options will be available for every course.

Terms

Tickets to events held at Platform at Pier 57 by the James Beard Foundation cover the cost of food, education, and a unique dining experience. Meals are prepared by culinary masters from all regions of the United States and around the world. Unless otherwise stated, alcoholic beverages are provided on a complimentary basis and are included in the ticket price. Gratuity, taxes, and fees are included in the ticket price.
