Chef and Caja Caliente founder Mika Leon joins us for an unforgettable dinner celebrating her debut cookbook, Cuban Soul: 100 Vibrant Recipes from Mi Cocina.
Food has always been the heartbeat of Leon’s family—from her grandfather launching a restaurant in Spain after leaving Cuba, to running a backyard cantina in Miami where she got her start in the kitchen. She carried those humble, comforting traditions into a food truck and eventually her acclaimed restaurant. In Cuban Soul, Leon shares cherished memories and craveable homestyle recipes alongside dynamic Caribbean flavors. The evening will feature a specially curated menu highlighting key dishes from the book.

Event Policy
Reservation Policy:
All reservations are non-refundable and must be made in advance. Should the event be cancelled due to any unforeseen circumstances, JBF will offer a range of options, including ticket exchanges, the option to donate tickets, or a full refund. Tickets to events held at Platform at Pier 57 by the James Beard Foundation cover the cost of food, education, and a unique dining experience. Meals are prepared by culinary masters from all regions of the United States and around the world. Unless otherwise stated, alcoholic beverages are provided on a complimentary basis and are included in the ticket price. Gratuity, taxes, and fees are included in the ticket price.
