A Modern Celebration Featuring Chefs Cedric Vongerichten and Dewa Wijaya

Chef Cedric Vongerichten—of New York City’s acclaimed Wayan, the only Indonesian restaurant recognized in the Michelin Guide USA—joins chef Dewa Wijaya, The Roundtree, Amagansett’s inaugural personal-chef-in-residence and a pioneer of wellness-driven cuisine, for a one-night collaboration inspired by the Indonesian tradition of Rijsttafel. Rijsttafel, which translates to “rice table,” celebrates abundance and community through an array of vibrant, aromatic dishes meant for sharing. Together, the chefs will present a modern interpretation that blends refined techniques with the layered spice and balance of Indonesian cooking, all paired with bright, tropical cocktails. 

Ochi Latjuba Vongerichten, Vongerichten’s Indonesian-born wife and co-owner of Wayan and its sister restaurant Ma•dé, will serve as the evening’s storyteller, offering guests personal insights into the cultural traditions and inspirations behind each dish. 

This one-night-only dinner will feature a cocktail reception with passed hors d'oeuvre upon arrival, an expertly crafted multi-course menu with thoughtfully curated wine or beverage pairings, and a Q&A with the featured chefs.

Reservation Policy:

All reservations are non-refundable and must be made in advance. Should the event be cancelled due to any unforeseen circumstances, JBF will offer a range of options, including ticket exchanges, the option to donate tickets, or a full refund. Tickets to events held at Platform at Pier 57 by the James Beard Foundation cover the cost of food, education, and a unique dining experience. Meals are prepared by culinary masters from all regions of the United States and around the world. Unless otherwise stated, alcoholic beverages are provided on a complimentary basis and are included in the ticket price. Gratuity, taxes, and fees are included in the ticket price.
