On the Menu: January 23 through January 29
Here’s what’s happening at the Beard House and around the country next week:
Monday, January 24, 7:00 P.M.
Haute Charleston
As chef and owner of one of Baltimore’s most lauded restaurants, two-time JBF Award nominee Cindy Wolf finds inspiration in the rich culinary heritage of Charleston, South Carolina. This dinner will highlight the chef’s refined, Huguenot-influenced cuisine along with impeccable wine pairings selected by wine director Tony Foreman.
Tuesday, January 25, 7:00 P.M.
Seasonal American
The Mill at 2t, a charming restaurant in pastoral Connecticut, serves up outstanding locally sourced dishes in an intimate setting. The eatery’s chef, Ryan Jones, and his friend the Canadian locavore chef Christophe Ithurritze are bringing that casual elegance to the Beard House with this winter dégustation of new American favorites.
Wednesday, January 26, 7:00 P.M.
Team New Jersey
Members of this New Jersey–born brotherhood have two things in common: a passion for their home state and extraordinary talent in the kitchen. These industry veterans, all of whom are at the top of their craft, will be collaborating on a spectacular Beard House dinner designed to showcase the breadth of their talent.
Thursday, January 27, 7:00 P.M.
Boldly Rustic
Gastropub pioneer April Bloomfield, a 2010 nominee for JBF Best Chef: NYC, is easily one of the most innovative chefs in town. Her rustic and seasonal cooking, infused with a European snout-to-tail mentality, has changed the way New Yorkers eat and continues to inspire an ardent following.
Friday, January 28, 7:00 P.M.
Grand Italian Winter Feast
When the days are short and nights are cold, a soul-warming meal is just what you need. Cornelius Gallagher’s authentic Italian fare, paired perfectly with bottles from wine director Paulo Villela’s wine cellar, makes for an impeccable winter feast destined to transport you to sun-drenched Mediterranean towns.
Saturday, January 29, 10:00 A.M.
Enlightened Eaters: A Workshop
Healthy-cooking expert Andrea Beaman returns to the Beard House to show us that hearty and comforting winter food can also be good for you. For the final installment of her four-part, seasonally focused workshops, she’ll prepare a balanced, delicious menu enhanced with seasonal produce.
Saturday, January 29–Sunday January, 30
