On the Menu: November 29 to December 5
Here’s what happening at the Beard House next week:
Monday, November 30, 7:00 P.M.
Boston’s Grand Dining
Soaring 52 stories above Boston’s Back Bay, the Top of the Hub is a city landmark, a can’t-miss dining experience that offers guests the rare combination of a breathtaking view and phenomenal food. Chef Marc Porcaro oversees the kitchen, where he crafts inventive interpretations of classic New England cuisine.
Tuesday, December 1, 7:00 P.M.
Piedmontese White Truffle Dinner
Under the tutelage of JBF Award winner Paul Bartolotta and Bartolotta’s own mentor Valentino Marcattilii, chef Juan Urbieta has mastered the art of Italian cooking. At this special event, he’ll pair decadent white truffle creations with the wines of Italy’s Piedmont region for a menu of unforgettable extravagances.
Wednesday, December 2, 7:00 P.M.
Nomi in New York
Jaw-dropping views of the Chicago skyline. Über-chic Tony Chi–designed interiors. Effortlessly choreographed service. There are several reasons to visit Nomi at the Park Hyatt Chicago, but none of them is more compelling than Christophe David’s pristine, contemporary French cuisine, which garnered the restaurant a three-and-a-half-star review from the Chicago Tribune.
Thursday, December 3, 7:00 P.M.
Florida’s Gold Coast
Like the shiny coins that wash up on the shore of Florida’s Gold Coast—relics from long-ago-sunken Spanish galleons—the food at the Delray Beach Marriott is a little piece of treasure. Exquisitely prepared yet unpretentious, chef Adam Savage’s contemporary American cuisine is a treat to discover.
Friday, December 4, 12:00 P.M.
Fabulous Holiday Luncheon
As a 19th-century boarding house, the building that is now Hotel Griffou attracted the likes of Mark Twain and Edgar Allan Poe. In its current incarnation, the restaurant embraces an air of Prohibition chic while chef Jason Giordano weaves old culinary traditions into modern classics.
Saturday, December 5, 10:00 A.M.
Annual Children’s Gingerbread Workshop
One of the most popular events of our holiday season, the annual gingerbread house workshop lets little home builders assemble the edible abode of their dreams. Master builder Joanne Lamb Hayes will lend her expertise to all the young architects and their adult chaperones.
